2024 Event
In September 2024, we hosted our inaugural Slow Coast qathet event.
As a group, we raised over $2000 to be split amongst local advocacy and conservation groups, including The Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Project, Coastal Partners in Conservation, The Name Matters, and Wild Ocean Whale Society.

2024 Project Highlights
Priority Registration for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and women
Our demographics for this event were approximately 55% women, 40% men, and 5% non-binary
Focus on Supporting Local & Women-Owned Businesses
Our logo, 3/4 of our amazing presenters, our coffee stops, our volunteers, our camp host, and majority of our prize donations were from women!
30% of Registration Fees Donated Back to Local Advocacy Groups
We raised over $2000 to be split amongst The Name Matters, Coastal Partners in Conservation, Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program, and Wild Ocean Whale Society
Education Piece
Attendees gathered the night before the camp out to hear short presentations from the groups above.
Art Integration
Local artist Lauren Everall created and guided us through using Cyanotype Adventure Kits during our ride.
It’s In The Name
Our ride was focused on moving slowly. We swam, we snacked, we made art, we laughed. This wasn’t, and will never be, a race!
2024 Event Partners
