David Moore lives with his wife Mary Lou MacMillan on a wooded property south of Powell River.  Now retired, they pursue their interests of gardening, photography, crafts and rural living.  David is originally from Ohio, having immigrated to Canada as a war resister at the time of the infamous Kent State killings (1970).  He studied architecture at Ohio State University, moved to Powell River from Kitchener in 1971, and spent his working years here as a residential designer and building inspector for CMHC’s social housing branch.  He met and married Mary Lou in Powell River where she had moved in the early seventies to escape the city pressures of Vancouver where she grew up.  They share an active interest in environmental conservation and social justice along with just doing nothing in particular when that seems more important.
